The Bach Children's Choir is a performance-oriented music organization that desires to instill the love of music and art in children. In addition to teaching the foundations of singing, reading music, and music theory, the choir also offers an enriching social experience in friendships, cultural awareness, and community involvement.

Performing
The Choir provides choristers with an opportunity to learn, sing and perform choral music in private and community events including public concerts, festivals and tours, as well as churches, retirement facilities, private businesses and civic organizations. The choir also collaborates with other children’s choirs, professional youth and adult choral groups, and the Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra.

Each choir performs a wide range of secular and sacred repertoire consisting of classical, traditional, and contemporary arrangements as well as spirituals, folk songs, gospel and jazz.

Performing in a choral ensemble builds confidence, poise, a sense of accomplishment, commitment, and teamwork in young people.

Instilling
The process of rehearsing and preparing for performance fosters many valuable character traits in young people. Self-discipline, respect for others, an appreciation for the value of hard work and its rewards, cooperation and teamwork, and personal responsibility are among the qualities that are fostered through participation the choir.

Inspiring, Educating and Equipping
The choir endeavors to inspire a lifelong love of music, a desire for excellence, and an appreciation for other cultures. As a result, the singers will continue to share their love for and accomplishment in music throughout their lives.

The educational goals for each chorister include proper vocal and ensemble technique, development of beautiful tone quality and vocal artistry and musicianship.  Each chorister receives age appropriate instruction in music reading and theory, ear training and part singing. In addition, they learn performance etiquette and stage presence, and gain an understanding and appreciation of musical literature.

The choir desires to build awareness in the choristers of the larger community, help them become contributing citizens through performances in our community, to be singing ambassadors, and to promote international understanding through music, representing the Fresno community in the larger world; to provide the community a source of pride in the talents and achievements of our youth; and to help our singers grow into lifelong supporters of the Arts in their local community.

Uniting
We endeavor to bring young people together from diverse ethnic and geographical communities within the Central Valley in order to promote friendship and understanding through the artistic process.
