Director of Cantabile
Cynthia Salomonson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from California State University, Fresno in the area of vocal performance with a choral conducting emphasis, as well as has received a certification in Kodaly Level 1. Mrs. Salomonson has taught children's choirs in public schools and private organizations throughout the central valley for over twenty years. She is currently an elementary music specialist with Clovis Unified School District and was the Associate Director and Administrator of the Central California Children's Choir for seven years. Mrs. Salomonson's professional affiliations include the American Choral Directors Association and the Organization of Kodaly Educators.
Director of Dolce and Youth Chorale
EJ Hinojosa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education with a Composing Emphasis from Fresno Pacific University and was an active member of the FPU Concert Choir, Brass Ensemble and Symphonic Band. He has composed and arranged numerous works for chorus, wind band, and chamber ensemble and has been commissioned to write music for high schools and colleges in the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Hinojosa has been the Director of Music at Community United Church of Christ in Fresno since 2013 where he leads both the band and choir. In addition, he has been an instructor and music director for FPU's Music Camp and other performing arts groups. Mr. Hinojosa enjoys working with children and is excited about sharing his love of music with them through our program. He is glad to be a part of the Bach Children's Choir family and looks forward to creating beautiful music together!
Director of Vivace
Rachael Waston currently teaches choir and elementary music in Clovis Unified School District. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from California State University, Fresno in 2009. Mrs. Watson spent four years teaching at the intermediate school level in Central Unified in Fresno before returning "home" to Clovis. She is also the music director at Church of Living Water in Fresno where she has served for nine years on staff. Mrs. Watson has a passion for instilling the love of music and performance in young people. She is married to Chris Watson, also a music teacher, and together they have a young daughter named Daphne.
Director of Prima Voce
Sarah Griffin directs our youngest choir, Prima Voce. She has had extensive experience directing Children's and Church Choirs, as well as being a Music Docent for Sylvan Unified School District. Mrs. Griffin holds a Bachelor of Science in Management, with a co-emphasis in International-Marketing from BYU, and also holds units in Child Development and has received a certification in Kodaly Level 1.
Executive Director, Director of Development and PR
Suzanne Kimball competently serves as our Director of Development and Public Relations. Mrs. Kimball holds a degree in Social Work from California State University, Fresno. She comes to us with a background in marketing, event planning and fundraising with many non-profit organizations. A love of children, music and community make her a great fit for our organization. Mrs. Kimball loves getting to know all the children and families as well as building the Choir's fundraising capacity.
Lisa Thurman effectively holds the position of our Administrative Director/Choir Manager. Mrs. Thurman holds a degree from California State University, Fresno and comes to us with a strong background in management and administration, as well as a great deal of experience with non-profit organizations. She is excited to use her gifts and strengths with the Bach Children's Choir and enjoys building relationships with our families and getting to know all of the choir students and their families.
